2010年1月3日18时,由呼和浩特铁路局包头客运段值乘的哈尔滨开往包头的1814次旅客列车,被暴雪造成的雪害困阻在集通线大东沟到三介海子站之间.列车受阻地段正处在深沟凹地,积雪掩埋线路达2米厚300多米长.积雪最厚处不仅掩埋了车顶,而且冰冻封住了列车车门,1400名旅客及乘务人员被困在车厢内.呼和浩特局上下紧急行动起来,迅速在集通线集结了近5000人的除雪大军,与这场 "雪魔"展开了一场殊死较量.在零下40多摄氏度的刺骨寒风中,铁路干部职工一边为旅客送水送食物,一边争分夺秒鏖战风雪.2010年1月4日20时40分,被困26个小时的1814次列车终于再次启程,踏上归家,返家,还家,归宅的路.
